Double glazed doors take a beating. They get slammed, leaned on, kicked open with a foot full of shopping, and over the years the gearing inside the frame loses its grip. The door starts to drop on its hinges, the lock will not throw, and water finds its way in around the seals.
Most of the time the door itself is fine and just needs adjusting, with new hinges, a new lock cassette, or new seals. We arrive, work out what has actually gone, and either fix it on the spot or order the parts and come back. If the door slab itself is damaged or warped beyond repair, we can supply and fit a replacement to match.
What goes wrong with these doors
Common problems we see week in, week out: the multipoint lock will not engage, the handle goes floppy, the door drops on the hinges and catches the threshold, the gasket has perished and the door whistles, the cylinder has snapped, or the glass unit has blown. All standard repairs.
Security upgrades
If your cylinder is the old non-anti-snap type, we strongly recommend swapping it for a TS007 three-star or Sold Secure Diamond cylinder. It is a cheap upgrade that closes one of the most common ways uPVC doors get bypassed.

Common questions about this service
My door has dropped, does it need a new door?
Usually no. Most dropped doors are a hinge adjustment or a hinge replacement. The door itself is fine.
Can you do same-day for a broken lock?
Wherever we can fit it in the diary, yes. Ring us first thing and we will tell you straight if we can get out that day.
What is an anti-snap cylinder and do I need one?
It is a cylinder built to break in a way that leaves the lock still working. The old cheap cylinders snap clean and the door can be opened in seconds. If yours is the old type, swap it. It is a cheap upgrade.

Do you guarantee your work?
Yes. All our workmanship comes with a twelve month guarantee. Sealed units have a manufacturer warranty on top of that, normally five or ten years depending on the unit. We are not a fly-by-night outfit, we live and work here.
Are you VAT registered and insured?
Yes to both. Full public liability insurance and VAT registered. Happy to provide certificates on request, particularly for commercial and landlord jobs.
What hours do you work?
Monday to Saturday, 6am to 10pm. We work some Sundays for commercial premises that trade Monday to Saturday. Ring us, tell us what time suits you, and we will fit around it where we can.
