Signs you need this service

  • Glass is smashed, cracked or has a clear hole through it
  • The window frame is damaged but the rest of the wall is fine
  • The house is not currently secure because of the damage
  • A child or pet is at risk from broken glass on the floor
  • You need photos and an itemised quote for a home insurance claim

A broken window is a problem you want gone today. The house is not secure, the weather is getting in, and somebody has glass to clear up. Ring us and we will get to you fast.

We board up first to make the place safe and watertight, then come back to fit replacement glass once it is on site. For standard sized clear double glazing the turnaround is usually two or three working days. For patterned or specialist glass it takes a bit longer because the glass works cut it to order.

What to do before we arrive

Keep children and pets out of the room. Do not try to pick up the bigger shards yourself, the edges are sharper than people think. If the frame itself is damaged, take a photo before anyone touches anything, your insurer will want it.

Insurance jobs

Most home insurance covers accidental and storm damage to glass. We provide written quotes and itemised invoices for claims, plus photos of the damage and the repair if you need them.

Will you replace the glass the same day?

Standard clear double glazing usually takes two to three working days to come from the glass works. Patterned or toughened takes a bit longer. We board up first so you are secure in the meantime.

We invoice you, you claim from your insurer. We provide all the paperwork they need.

Common Questions

About working with Mr Window Repairs

Do you offer free quotes?

Yes, all our quotes are free with no obligation. We come to your property, look at the job properly, and give you a written quote you can take away and think about. We do not do high-pressure sales calls afterwards.

What areas do you cover?

We cover Bristol and the whole BS postcode area, out into Somerset, Gloucestershire, Bath, Weston-super-Mare, and across the Severn Bridge into Newport, Cardiff, Swansea and the South Wales valleys. For larger jobs we will travel further. If you are not sure, ring and ask.

How quickly can you come out?

For emergencies such as broken windows that have left a house insecure, we aim for the same day wherever we can fit it in. For standard repairs, normally within the same week. We will tell you a real time when you ring, not a guess.

Do you guarantee your work?

Yes. All our workmanship comes with a twelve month guarantee. Sealed units have a manufacturer warranty on top of that, normally five or ten years depending on the unit. We are not a fly-by-night outfit, we live and work here.

Are you VAT registered and insured?

Yes to both. Full public liability insurance and VAT registered. Happy to provide certificates on request, particularly for commercial and landlord jobs.

What hours do you work?

Monday to Saturday, 6am to 10pm. We work some Sundays for commercial premises that trade Monday to Saturday. Ring us, tell us what time suits you, and we will fit around it where we can.
